Maybe they call it race because of the cat deletes. I too have that. It's honestly the same, it's just marketing for them. They are down the road from so I saw it all.

If you look carefully, there's a dramatic difference in the size of the mufflers or resonators between the two .

I wasn't even paying attention. Ok so I have the sport exhaust currently on my 01 S, but I did have the race exhaust on my 02 base.

that photo shows the race exhaust. i run it on my car & it sounds incredible. it's pretty loud in the cabin, but my car sees mostly track duty & it SCREAMS at the track. sounds like a combination between a GT3, a ferrari & a GSXR 1100.

How is Stebro to deal with as a company ? I've heard conflicting reports in the past .

I have the stebro race exhaust (no cat deletes) on my 97. Sound is amazing above 3.2k. Eventhough it has a drone at about 3k...pretty loud drone...it's WELL WORTH it when you hear it sing. Beautiful sound. Ferarri 360/gt3.

Fabspeed's new race exhaust is another consideration . Tawheed has it on his boxster, and he loves it .

Why not ask me Johnny? I said they are down the road!

And it was a pain in the ass dealing with them. They installed the exhaust. Things were not done right. Noises, rattles. Offered to replace for a new one but wanted to charge me full price. Yatta Yatta.

Whoooo wheee, damn that's pretty, danger! This thread got mr thinking. I have the stebro muffler, some headers...but stock cats. Are there any high flow cat kits for the boxster? I'm afraid to just run pipes as California is the home of smog nazis.

My apologies ! I got caught in the fact that Insite has the actual race exhaust on his vehicle. Anyway, how did you resolve the problem ? Is it functioning ok now ?

Johnny, I have a Stebro in my Alfa Milano and it sounds great indeed, the quality is great as well.

However, the dark side of Stebro is their business practices one of my Alfa bussies ordered one of their systems and Stebro told him that the exhaust was in stock for immediate shipment, they collected the money right away (credit card) and shipped several weeks later, (obviously was not in stock).

Upon arrival, one of the components was damaged and was returned to Stebro which they agree to replace and re-ship, however, they charged my friend's card (again...!), it took my friend several letters to his bank to get the charges reversed.

Too bad because the sound is superb... now if you take advantage of Viola's kindly offered support that may put you in a equal position with Stebro.

.
