The third nut is not 100% necessary, but as mentioned in the write up, I put it on the other end of the 100mm bolt - over 1" up from bottom. Did so thinking it would be needed to keep the bolt centered in tool. But as I recall, it's not necessary especially using the 1/4" nutsert nosepiece. That being said, if you can find a 120mm or longer threaded bolt, grab that instead. It'll make it easier for you to hold steady while installing and give you more thread to grab onto for unscrewing bolt after pulling the trigger
