Brake wear

Just found out that my brake pads need changing after only 30k miles.

Is this normal for a Boxster? My other cars have all gone 50k and up before replacement.

This sounds fairly reasonable -- I have been told b-pads need to be replace about every 2 set of tires and normal/expected tire life for Z-rated shoes is around 13,000 - 18,000 miles. Also, have been told rotor life is about 2 sets of pads.

That is normal for front pads - they have a soft compound so they don't squeek. Rears last longer.

The pads are easy to replace yourself.
