Does anyone know how to take the fronts off the headlight assemblies so they can be buffed out to get rid of the yellowing. Mine are yellowing at the top on the inside. I used a headlight polisher on the outside and it really did nothing. The Bentley book says nothing about how to do this. Can it be done?

No, you would have to break the housings apart to do that. Time for new assemblies.............

Are you sure it's the inside you need to get at?

If you still have to get into the headlights, modders have been doing this for years with other cars. Nervous work, but somebody figured out the boxster "recipe" over here: http://www.boxsterforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16149

How did I know about these? I have the same issue. Just parked mine for the winter, and I'll be looking into this myself.

This guy at RennTech says they can be separated in the oven. It sounds dodgy to me but he has the pictures to prove it. I might try this on my old headlights to see if I can do it without warping them, but your mileage may vary.

Lots of good used headlamp units on eBay for $75-$150 each. Why not simply swap yours out for better ones and then sell yours for whatever you can get? Can't imagine you'll be out more than $150 when all is said and done. Think of what your time's worth - and how much you could end of spending on products of questionable value - screwing around with your current units?
