What’s the difference between Porsche boxter

What’s the difference between Porsche boxter (model 2000 - 2005 model), regarding the design, shape and performance? And are there any difference in the size and the interior of the 2005 Porsche boxter model?

The 2000-2004 Boxster is the 986.

The 2005-2009 Boxster is the 987.

The 987 has more leg room and head room. FYI.

When did porsche add the newer top cables on boxsters (the ones that don't flex)? I haven't figured out what year they made those standard or if they ever did.
