2nd Alarm

Has anyone put a second alarm on their boxster? I was looking for another alarm to protect against headlight theft. They have stolen the lights off of one boxster and 2 maximas on my block, so I feel like the next car on the list.

headlight theft started here a few years ago and then it just stopped.
I dont think an alarm would work as the damage will already be done to the bodywork. The only way is get your car in a garage or get some good security cameras CCTV. Remember nobody pays attention to car alarms, BUT there is a new kind of alarm comming out. If someone attempts to break into your car then your alarm sets your alarm off but also sets other people car alarms off with in 5 meters of your car. Everyone pays attention to 2 alarms and there owners pay more!
I dont know how it works but when it comes out it will be first on my list

I replaced my bulbs this weekend, and really dopn't see how you can steal a boster headlight without opening the hood!
The fastening system look very efficient to me!
Isn't this headlight steal a myth?

it takes about 10 seconds to steal a headlight.

get a flat screwdriver or bar and wedge it between the bodywork and headlight then ease it out.

this is no myth as at the end of the day its only a click and snap system

10 seconds, wel the guys must have a very goor trick then, because just I'm sure that just by puting a screwdriver or so between the headlight and the bodywork and trying to push the light towards it can not come out the click system wont lose!
then he must access the clip system by a certain way!

the 10 seconds are exaggerated, but the headlights are quite easy to steal. 5 minutes max. Anyways I think I am going with a proximity alert so when anyone close to my car does not leave after the 3 quick alerts, the alarm will sound.
