Struts to Coilovers, easy swap?

Is it easy to just replace my Struts with a Coil-over setup? I mean do you just remove the Struts and the shocks go in where the struts were without any modifications or adapter hardware?

Time consumning and a little frustrating at times but all in all not too difficult. There is a good DIY on renntech.org and I think another one here. If I am not mistaken the one on this board has a great shortcut which makes it way easier.
