CEL with no codes, is this possiable?

Just curious... Here is how it went....

Cold start, ran very rough, flashing CEL, loud backfire from the intake, engine stalls, wont start for about 5 mins, then started, no CEL and runs fine ever since.

Code check at the dealer did not show any engine codes.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
James

After a number of drive cycles if the fault is not detected again then the fault code is deleted from the DME and the light goes off.

So you must have driven the car enough times and the fault was not detected again. So the fault code erased itself.

At my local dealer they like to see your car when the check engine light is still on.
