Cool changing throttle body

hi, congratiolations with u good forumside, special for the Boxster fan.

I've got an S, 2000, and some electrical problems. After starting runs 1000rpm max. and is notreacting on the gaspedal.

Fault OBD IIcode P1502, all the time shows up. What i want to know.

Do i really have to change the whole throttle body or can i think of something else. Already changed the MAF and cleaned the throttle.

I also can drive normally in this emregncy program when I disconnect the MAF

Any other idea, before i have to pay the "headprice" here.

thanks
Boris

It sure sounds like the servo that drives the throttle butterfly. The first thing to do is make sure it's still connected, electrically.

P1502
The position of the throttle is controlled by a digital position controller which emits a pulse-width-modulated (PWM)duty cycle and a direction bit.
After the output stage has been deactivated, the throttle is brought into emergency air position by means of two springs. This return of the throttle must take place within a certain time. If this time is exceeded, a fault is stored in the memory.

You can try and clean any varnish and gum buildup in the TB and see if that is restricting the return of the butterfly to the closed position. If not you need to replace the TB.

P1502, using parts of another Boxster

Hi Boxster fans, thanks for your replies. Unforgenatly the car is still not running after controlling everything which is said and replacing MAF sensor and throttle.

U know i had this electrical problem with my boxster S. Bad running engine on 1500 RPE max, no gaspedalreaction/acyivity probably caused by giving starthelp to another car. OBDII code 1502 is showing up all the time, maf sensor and throttle body are already replaced. Do u ever heard of problems after giving starthelp?

Do u think its dangerous to use the MAF sensor and throttle body of another boxster. I can use a friends boxster S form 2001, i have a 2000 S, to replace parts and to see whats is the problem. U know i had this P1502 code, replaced MAF and throttle but its still the same problem. I dont want my friend to have problems with his car after that and i am, kind of responsible for that.

I mean about resetting and using different DME's with this parts, is that not risky?

I appreciate if u will reply on this issue cause two different porschecar dealers here in Holland cant find the problem.

Boris
