Damn Keyless Entry

Hi everyone,

I have a 98 Boxster that I bought used about a year ago.

Last week the keyless entry quit working. I replaced the battery and now the red light flashes but nothing happens.

I spoke with the dealer, they tell me it shouldn't need reset by them, but that to "reset" it myself, I need to insert 1 key into the ignition and 1 into the door. That's where my problem starts. I only have 1 key.

They say I could bring it in for reprogramming but I also don't have the silly code that comes with the car when you buy it (evils of buying used).

The only answer the dealer had was to bring it in and have the keyless entry controller head replaced, something that's along the lines of 800Euro.

Any suggestions? Has anyone run into a similar problem? Is there anywhere I could get the controller head and keys used? Any thoughts would help!

Thanks
David.
