cruise control indicator light

Anybody familiar with the green dash cruise control light staying on?
'01 Boxster/tip. Cruise worked ok on test drive, but now I notice the green indicator light will not go out, either by turning the key off (should reset) or pushing the lever on the column.
Car is new to me. First Boxster after everthing from 356's, to 911, to 968. I think I am going to love the car, just need plates, and for it to stop snowing!
Thanks, and btw, this is a terrific forum!

greesedc,

The light should go off if you hit the button on the end of the cruise control stalk. The light remians on until you turn it off with the button (even if you turn the car off, and then back on). The light also remains on when you deactivate the cruise on the road.

Hope this helps.
