Question De-snorkling instruction guideline

Hi All,

Can anybody point me to the correct procedure/trick for removing the
Boxster intake side vent blinds:

After searching on the forum I have found the following set of directions:

But the instructions do not include photos, I find a bit unclear the steps involving
the removal of the blind. I gave it a try and they seem very hard to decouple from the side vent cover. I don't want to break them by pushing too hard....

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Humberto-

You can take a look at renntech.org. Here is the link http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=16326

Thumbs up

Thanks, HB.

After checking the renntech DIY post and reading the follow-up discussion, I was able to remove the blinds, cover and snorkle within 10 mins (and w/o breaking or scratching anything!

After a good run I think I have satisfied my curiosity. But the overall sound improvement from the BMC filter and PSE is already so good, that frankly
I did not really noticed a "night-and-day" sound difference after de-snorkling (although the intake note is certainly deeper after 4k rpm...).

Fortunately, the beauty of this mod is that it is also very easy (and free) to restore the initial configuration.

Thanks again.

Cheers,
