Replace boxster cluster with 996 cluster?

Is it possible to replace the stock boxster instrument cluster with a 996 cluster?

Would I simply unplug the old one and plug the new one in? Have you done it before?

I don't currently have one, but I am planning on it (and the mods to make). I am looking at an '01 - '03 Boxster S. Thanks.

Ask again when you have a Boxster and I will tell you what you need to do. And I need to know the year.
