Heated seat not working

Hi, my heated seat on the drivers side isnt working. I was aware of this when I bought the car over a year ago but now Ive decided to look into the problem.
When I press the button to switch the heated seat on the light (green or red) does not stick but just flashes on.
Does this sound like a swtich problem or an actual heating element problem? Has nyone experienced this and repaired it?
I'm assuming its a case of removing the seats if it is the heating element within the seat?

Thanks in advance

This could be either a switch issue, or a wiring fault (either in the wiring or the heating grid) and the switch isnt allowing current flow. You'd have to grab a multi meter to test out the circuits in the car and in the seat. Disconnect the seat plug, and test the wiring for current flow, and then check the heating grids in the seats for continuity. That should tell you sometime.

If you take the seat out and do not disconnect the battery, you will get a airbag light on the dash that cannot be reset unless you take it to the dealer.
