OBD-II Code 1530 for 97 Boxster

Can anyone tell me what OBD-II code 1530 for a 97 Boxster means? And maybe what to do about it?

P1530 Camshaft Adjustment, Bank 1

Maybe your chain tensioner is going out, or is at maximum compensation.

It needs to be checked with a PST2 [dealer or person with one.]

If it is bad is there any fix short of pulling the motor? The dealer wants $2500.

Go to an independant Porsche person if you were in Southern California, I would have just the person for you.

What I have read is that you must dis- assemble the top end of the motor.

I would say yes it needs to be pulled, if your problem is as serious as described.
