Final gear options

Hey!

Can the final drive ratio be changed in a boxster? Is the final drive a separate ring and pinion, or part of the transaxle? If changed, how can speedometer be recalibrated?

I would like more information on how the transmission/final drive is constructed.

I love the boxster, just not the gearing. I would like a much closer ratio, or lower final drive ratio. Are performance custom gears available for a Boxster?

The way I would improve the Boxster for my own personal driving style is winding out to 4th gear below 100 mph for maximum acceleration. I don't have a place or a need to go 149 mph, but I would love to row through the gears going 0-100.

Jamie
