New DD vehicle... Volt anyone?

I’m in on the prowl for a replacement DD vehicle.
I typically run my daily drivers for over 10 years, until mechanical repairs become economically illogical.
I obviously want to pick something I won’t hate every time I get in.
Even my current DD Subaru Forester is quirky enough to keep me entertained, but it’s 11 years old and my Subaru mechanic has informed me it’s going to need suspension work and some CV joints done within a year.

Been on a lengthy test drive in a new Chevrolet Volt, and I’m damn impressed.
It could be the vehicle I spend the next decade tooling around in.
Opinions?
Comments?
Personal experiences?

That’s a good choice.

Also consider the plug-in hybrid versions of the Ford Fusion and the Ford C-Max. They are labeled “Energi”.

The C-Max Energi is a very fun car to drive. Seriously.

Good luck.

We have a 215 Volt as my wife's DD. Not a sports car by any means, but still a fun vehicle that's super reliable and inexpensive to maintain.

Tesla Model 3? Going to have to wait a bit but Tesla does build nice EVs.

The Model 3 isn’t even on the radar.
Doesn’t appeal to me at all, not to mention delivery in 12-18 months. WTF!?
I can’t see myself driving over an hour to the nearest Tesla store either.
The nearest Chev dealer is 4 miles away.
