Please keep Houston in your prayers

Holy buckets this is bad. Thousands of my fellow Houstonians are flooded out of their homes. Fortunately, my family (and my boxster) lives in the Houston Heights and we are 76 feet above sea level and our home is 4 feet off the ground.

What you see on the news is not overstated or sensationalized. This is catastrophic flooding that will probably make New Orleans (Katrina) look like a practice run if you can fathom that.

Harvey is headed back out to the Gulf to recharge and come back at us on Tuesday or Wednesday and we have already endured 20+ inches of rainfall. And to make it worse, our resoivoirs are overfull and they will open the flood gates tonight at 2 am and hundreds more homes will be flooded with up to 8 feet of water.

Pray for us. We need it.

I'm glad to hear you're ok. I was worried about how you were doing. FYI, I have 2-3 spots for RVs at my shop and 2-3 spots at my house if you know anyone needing somewhere to get away to. I have access to water, electric and septic with those spots. I have room for more RVs but without services. We got 20+ inches out here in Bastrop. Getting out here might be a challenge as I hear lots of roads are flooded. Once here, you're safe from any chance of flooding.

Thoughts and prayers to all affected, and appreciation for all who are working hard to help their fellow citizens. Can't even fathom that much rain in such a short period.

Praying for those who live in Florida too. A terrifying cyclone is arriving this weekend.

Some of the people I work with went to help out in Texas. I kept putting off taking the last FEMA course I need to be certified. I'll be ready if they need more people in Florida.
