Hello everyone, good to be here; I'm probably going ask a bunch of dumb questions hoping to learn a ton from you all.
I just picked up a Red 2002 Boxster S, 116k miles about a week ago in my home state of Florida. It's only intention is to cruise/date night with my wife (it'll probably average 2-3k miles a year), and 1/2 its life was spent in California, and the other half spent in Florida, driving back and forth to CA. Two elderly ladies owned it for most of the 2nd half of its life, so I hope that bodes well for its health (but who knows). I have a few handfuls of maintenance records, and am digging to see if I can get some more from the shop that did all the work on this vehicle over the last 10 years, and before if I can. I know it has a new clutch, flywheel, and upgraded IMS bearing replaced as of about 7k miles ago, oil changes, brake work, new fuel line, ABS, spark plugs, and some other bits and bobs. It needs a few things I could tell pretty quickly, such as a new top, replace a strut for the top, some paint clean up on the top decking and active aero, a couple PDR dings, little foggy headlights, and some others I'm sure I haven't identified yet.
I'm coming from a BMW Z3 2.8, which unfortunately was totaled when an elderly gentleman decided to full send reverse into my car in a parking lot...
Anyway, here she is...thanks!
