New to Boxster and 986, not to Porsche

Hello all,

It's great to find a new online forum to learn about my latest Porsche, which is a very humble example of 2000 Boxster S that I bought as a shop car to drive my customers around and run errands in. As a specialty car dealer, I sell Porsches pretty regularly and fell in love with the size and feeling of the 986 chassis. So, when a somewhat local example came up at a price that became 'too good to be true', I had to pull the trigger.

I've owned several 911s since 2009 and started out with a 2001 996 Turbo 6MT. Since that time I added my dream car, a 2010 911 GT3 RS, and also added a 2008 911 GT2. Although my own 986S is definitely a slow and cosmetically challenged Porsche in comparison with my other Porsches, I still love it very much and cannot wait to do plenty of fun projects with it.

Also, don't be upset with me that one of my goals is to put an LSx engine in it, as that is one of the reasons I bought it. My tired little Boxster S was likely headed for the scrap yard though, so don't feel bad for this particular example as I plan to give it a new lease on life.

I look forward to learning from all of you, and am very happy to have found this forum.

Do you plan to do it yourself or is there a kit on the market for this?
