Another, long time enthusiast - new owner in Ontario

Finally found a 986 in great condition, paid too much but hopefully won't have to replace too much right away. 2001, 5spd, 2.7, Arctic Silver, Blue, Blue 55000km.

Already had to replace ignition switch, and disconnected the battery and of course closed the frunk. The spline socket was also in the frunk so I had to remove the liners with the wheels on. So with the help of a couple of forum members I am now familiar with the emergency trunk release wire in the PASSENGER SIDE under the liner. After a several hour "bonding" session I guess I am officially a Porsche owner. Lol.

Looking forward to finding some twisty roads.

The front and rear lighting is mismatched (bought this way) in my opinion. LED's and clear markers are being shipped. I will hang on to the original lighting just in case I decide I prefer the old school/original look.

Nice car. Wish you the very best with it. I've never done it, but I know how to get in and have taken precautions on the battery/frunk thing. That's pretty low mileage for an 01. Mine will be turning 50k this week.

Smile Congratulations

Congratulations ! Nice purchase of a low mileage example. I'm not sure of what your plans are of restoring the car to it's original stock look, but either way you'll have a blast driving it, and you have come to the right place for tips, opinions and suggestions!

My taillights are in excellent condition... look near brand new.

If you're aiming to go stock I could consider a trade/swap... vis-a-vis.

Have fun with the car!
