New guy here!

Hi Everybody!

My name is George and I just got a 2001 Boxster S. It's a bit neglected (ok, a lot) from the previous owner and I plan on fixing things up to enjoy it. Well, I guess I got no choice since I don't think I can smog it with the SAI code (P0410, P1411, and P0153) I have now. I bought this knowing there are many issues but will address them as time permits. Here's the list of things need fixing:

- Top won't go down (convertible transmission I think, had a difficult time taking the triangle arm out so I can lower the top and get it into service mode).
- the passenger window regulator is broken
- oxidized paint
- the brake wear indicator is on
- the bottom of the engine is wet
- broken CV boot (discovered a couple of days ago)
-worned out tires need replacing

I'm sure there are more but that'll keep me busy for a while. Plus I don't think the PO did any maintenance other than changing oil. The good thing is the engine feels good and strong and the transmission shifts smooth. Hopefully, after fixing all the maintenance item it would run good as new.

I've been reading a lot here and am very impressed with the willingness and openness of sharing knowledge on this site. I'm hoping to contribute wherever I can. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

George

ps. here's a not so good pic of the car.
