Another from Flo-Rida

Just picked up a 2001 Speed Yellow 2.7 manual. Really look forward to ownership. Wow, these thing have gotten CHEAP!

I've always been a Porsche fan, since my neighbor down the street took me for a ride when I was maybe 12 in a very early 944 Turbo they were considering buying. They ended up restoring an older 911, and that's another lust story. I had the obligatory 959 poster on the wall in high school.

My car came with a story. The ad stated "I'm 81 and just don't need a car like this anymore." Turns out he purchased this for his wife who was dying of cancer. It was a bucket list item. She always wanted a Porsche. She passed away a few months ago.

It's somewhat rough and needs a lot of deferred maintenance done. But he put in a new clutch, water pump and LN IMS bearing after he purchased it. So, some big items have been covered already.

I'm an Engineer. I travel for work A WHOLE LOT. I only put maybe 5000 miles a year on a car. So I want them all to be fun.

Are there different jack stand points on that model? It's looking a little shady.

Otherwise... nice car! I sure miss having a garage.

Have fun and post pics as you navigate ownersip.

Cheers!

It looks shady cuz it's DARK OUT! HAHA

It looks like he's using suspension mounts for jack points. I can't see nothin' wrong with that. You?

Suspension points. Are those the four areas with the little hole that jack stands sit? I don't recall them being so far to the inside of the car. Are you saying that there exist more "points" where jack stands can be positioned? I know there are the front and rear jack points... not the points where the jack stands hold up the car. I hope that makes sense.

Cheers, May.
