New Guy to Forum

Just bought new to me 2000 Boxster with 15000 miles. Looking for suggestions concerning immediate preventive maintenance one other than the cautionary oil change as a result of age and low mileage. Longtime RVer where maintenance is key.

check out the watercooled forums of rennlist.com. you'll get a lot of answers in the 996 forum at least in regards to engine issues

two years ago I bought a 27k mile 996. the only "prevention" I did was oil/filter, motor mounts, coolant expansion tank replacement and brake fluid

Welcome to the forum. At 15k, it may still have original tires and they may *look* good. Replace them if they are over about 6 years old:

Welcome!

Do you have any maintenance records? If the oil hasn't been changed annually or you don't know do that first, as mentioned check the tires, then I would preventatively replace anything that would have degraded with time, timing belt, brake fluid, etc.

In addition to those already mentioned;
Check filters: air, pollen, and fuel; Check wheel alignment; serpentine belt, battery age, water drain plugs....more to come
