Worth buying a 2004 986 if the IMS isn't retrofitted yet?

How's everybody doing?

I've always wanted to have a Boxster and I've decided to make it happen. However, I am not certain if the IMS has been retrofitted yet on this specific vehicle. It's a 2004 Boxster S with Auto trans. 70k miles.

I've read that if the IMS is going to fail, it'll be by the 50k mark, but I don't want to risk it with it being such a fatal issue.

What would you guys do moving forward if you were in my shoes? I've considered using it as a negotiating tactic, but I really don't feel like replacing the IMS myself and I really don't feel like paying someone else to do it for me.

Thanks for any responses, I really appreciate it!
