Anybody have an answer about the steering on the boxster? Is that hard to turn? If is missing some fluid, could be the problem? Any help to be much appreciated.

Low PS fluid or failed PS pump most likely.

To check the PS fluid, open your engine compartment and remove the PS reservoir cap.
The inside of the cap will have a stick with marks for cold/hot. I like checking when it's cold and ensure the fluid is at the mark. No more no less.

A quick search yielded this:

- PS fluid reservoir location (same for 986)

Couple of hours. You might want to replace the serpentine belt since you have to remove it. Recommended at 60k.
