New to forum

Hi, my name is Mike and I'm looking at a few Boxters and hope to purchase one soon. I've owned a 944 and a couple 914's and now looking for another toy. My other Porsches where great cars. The 944 I had my dad owned since new and I sold when it had 100k on it without any problems other than normal maintenance. I'm looking right now at a 2002 Boxter S, it is extremely clean and doesn't look abused. The only thing that kinda worries me is the mileage 110k. How many miles have some of you got out of your Boxters? There is also a 2001 Boxter base with 45k for a couple grand more. Both cars look same for wear but I really like the S. I do plan on running a carfax before I buy.

Hey mike and welcome to the most useful resource for owning a boxster. I bought my 2000 base modle at 110k and have had little to no problems with it. I recently hit the 120k mark and I have only had it for a year and 1/2. Now the milage is not the bigest concern that you should have but the amount of maintenance and parts replaced. Make sure that you get a pre purchase inspection to accompany the carfax. Also if you do the math the car was driven under 15k a year so it was properly driven. So if the PPI is good, the carfax are clean, and the price is right go for it. The extra horse power of the S is really nice in the straight lines so its always a plus over the base.

Also take some pics of both the cars and post them so we can get an idea of what your looking at.
