I don't like chrome wheels either but as was said earlier taste is not to be argued about.

However the 986 was never intended to have wheels that large, and the first years it was not even approved for 18" by Porsche.

So you should be wary of this, especially considering the weight of those rims.

No but as I understand it the suspension could be damaged during spirited driving because of loads it was not designed for.

Maybe someone who knows the subject can chime in?
