05 brakes; base vs S

After months of debate, I recently purchased on 05 base in lieu of an 04 S ( the upgraded interior and creature comforts won out over a better DE car). In the pre-05 boxsters, it is pretty apparent the S has bigger brakes. I can not find any info on what the 05 brakes are on the S and base. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Enjoying my the car tremendously (a world better than the old MR2 Spyder).

Welcome to the forum,

You may need to post a new thread to get the attention of the more experienced members of this site. They are usually quite helpful and knowledgeble.

As you know, the 05 was the big redesign to the 987 designation with the nice upgrades. The brakes on the base 05 is the following:

Front Brakes: 298mm
Rear Brakes: 292mm

The 05 S has the following sized brakes:

Front Brakes: 318mm
Rear Brakes: 299 mm

Interestingly... the 04 S has the same size as the 05 base and the 04 SE has the same size as the 05 S.

Hope this helps a little.

Hey Folks,

I think that brake performance is THE greatest driver safety feature on a sportscar. They have saved my "--S" a few times in uncharted territory!

Happy Trails,
Ike

Agreed! ******************** brakes on a fast car can realllyyy screw the whole experience up.
Honda S2000- Amazing Handling, Tremendous power (if you used the whole rev range), sub par brakes (when considering the handling and acceleration). It was fun, but I was always a bit scared about braking. Eventually the brakes did me in I don't even wanna post pics..
