New member here, I have a Boxster 2.7 with 81,000 miles. My red LED lights on the gear indicator toggle back and forth from 4 to D (if I’m going forward), 4 to R(if I’m backing up. Using Tiptronics doesn’t help. Also doesn’t go into 5 gear. I took it to the shop around the corner and they pulled the boot/connector off trans and laid a good coat of dielectric grease in the boot. after it came off the lift it was fine. 2 days later it is doing it again! Nothing I could find out there. Any ideas?
