I'd try unplugging the battery, and disconnecting and re-seating the connectors at the rear first.

Let me know what colour of connectors you have and if you can't get the problem fixed this way, I can lend you a dash to swap out and see if that fixes the problem.

I'm now in Blackburn, West Lothian. Would appreciate help / advice with the dash, happy to come to you to discuss or whatever suits. I'm competent with spanners but need guidance on how to take it to bits, and hoped someone might've had the same dash problem.

Hi. Nice to see someone else from Scotland on here. You look like you know what you're doing from the pics you've posted so far. Have you replaced the front suspension bushes too? The ones on mine creak like buggery when the weather's very dry (thankfully not often!)
