When you took the car, did the dashboard was working, just there was no ignition or it was totally dead, before changing imobiliser

I see have a Boxster S for sale, was wondering is there any way to get the title reversed as wow that really a shame the insurance set it to destruction. I read online it almost impossible to have that changed back but thought would ask? Chris
