Hello all! This is my first post on this forum. Im 22 and bought my 2002 2.7 Boxster a year and a half ago and absolutely love it to death! Unfortunately last week it slipped timing, and the engine is now a paper weight. Since I have to buy a new engine anyway, I am considering upgrading to a 3.2 S engine. I have read other posts about this topic and have some questions.

I have seen some users say that its pretty much a direct fit requiring little changes or modifications. Others have stated that an ECU remap or replacement, new cooling hoses to the radiator, and a third engine cooler among other things is required to accomplish this. If someone could clarify what needs to be done that would be great.

Im having the work done at a shop. Id really like to put a 3.2 in if its not going to be massively more labor intensive/expensive than just replacing with a standard engine. Im glad to be here and thank you in advance for your time and help!
