Are you into home theaters?

If so, visit http://www.hometheaterdiscussion.com . An SACD player will be given away when 800 members are reached. One was already given away at 500.

Jorge,

What do you think of SACD? I tend to like it, although, my reference unit kicks but over my SACD unit (although a "tad" less $$).

Question What do you think about plasma sets?

Jorge: I'm really interested in buying a 42" plasma set, but am wondering if the picture quality will be significantly better than my current 36" Sony WEGA/XBR. I use my TV almost exclusively for DVD viewing. The rest of the time my five kids are watching Rug Rats and other similar cartoons. I don't have satellite or even movie channels. I would rather rent the occassional DVD I really want to watch (or that my wife wants to watch more accurately). So, is the $4,000 or more a good expenditure or just a fashion statement. TTYL, William

You can get a very good plasma set that will handle 480p or 720p for about 4 or 5k. This should be much betterthan your tv if it DOES NOT handle 480p. Head on over to www.hometheaterdiscussion.com and post your question. you will get lots of replys. Also, if you can go an extra 1k, you might want to get a DLP projector which will blow your tv away.

JT,

What is a DLP projector? Are you saying, it wil blow a Plasma away or the basic, tube TV?

when you compare the tv or plasma to a projector with a 103"+ diagonal image and hidef, it simply rocks !!! DLP is a chip by TI which is yielding phenomenal results in the HT area.
