Any interest in a Summer Drive??

I haven't seen any life on this forum. What happened to all of you?

Hey Mark,

It certainly has been quiet around here! We've been super busy. The only thing we've done was the trip down to the Blue Ridge Boxster Summit in June. Great time but very wet.

I've been toying with a few ideas for drives. I was thinking a possible one could be up to Kittery Maine. Some nice roads, lobsters and shopping at the outlets for those that might be interested. Not too far (except for you).

Also I wouldn't mind just getting together for some short drives in the local area. Don't have to make a whole day and hundreds of miles out of it.

How about a simple cruise to favorite ice cream stands (or farm stand, Rey )? We could do it ~monthly with people nominating/arranging for their favorite ones. Maybe make it a weekday night or part day on a weekend to minimize the "family time" impact... but still a chance to get out and catch up.

Hey guys,
You both have some great ideas for theme rides.
As far as the Kittery Maine drive, would it possibly include driving along Rt 1A along the NH coast?
I can put together a local drive in my area that has a mini Nurburgring type road
If you don't get much response on here, can the other previously interested people get emailed from Rey?

Yes, I can email the list. Also posting on some of the other boards will yield a few other people.

Hey look, there's Rey, just when I asked over at PPBB!

I think the ice cream idea is a good one, be nice to meet up somewhere once in a while an exchange notes etc. Are there any detailing days or work on cars days or the like? I'm looking to do OBD soon and wouldn't mind some advice.

Chris.

So it appears a few people are crawling out of the woodwork.

How about we plan for a short duration local area drive and ice cream run?

Don do you want to use the same general route? If Mark wants to join I would assume he'd prefer a weekend time slot as he comes up from Wareham.

We can knock around some ideas for other drives etc.

I'm also open to having a gtg at mi casa for some bbq and Boxster fun.

Any chance of putting something together for this weekend (7/16-17)? The weather looks promising.

I'd be happy to lead a similar route, but it can't be this weekend for me due to other commitments. The following weekend might work on the Sunday.

For those that didn't go last time, we did a ~2 hour ride on back roads in towns in the area around Rt 2/495 NW, finishing at a local ice cream stand.

Yup - too short of notice for me.

Want to tentitively shoot for next Sun??

Same route (or similar) to the one we did that ended at Kimballs.

Don't think the tomatoes will be ripe yet

We're doing the PCA rally tomorrow that includes some of the same territory... may get some good ideas from that. Starting location would be somewhere between Bolton and Westford off of 495.

Should be able to do it next Sunday, weather willing. Probably do it as a later afternoon thing, ~3PM start leading to a ~5PM Kimball's Special.

Yes, weather looks good so we're on. I'm going to move this to another thread so we can get a count and work the details for this one event there. Watch for the new thread.
