Repaired and Reconditioned My Seats
When I bought my 986 in January I thought for sure I would need to either recover or replace my seats. After seeing out how much that costs I decided to try to repair them myself. Thanks to JC986 for the inspiration.
I bought this kit for Leather World and spent two weeks working on them. The most time consuming part was the staining. It took a total of 14 coats before I was satisfied with the results. All in all, I really like how they turned out.

In the midst of doing mine. It is tedious but looking good. Using the passenger side as my guinea pig. Driver side in worse shape. I'm doing mine one at a time. I have about ten coats on. My seats are black. Did you have trouble with dye streaking? Did it go away when you conditioned the leather?

Sorry for the delay in responding.
Yes, I did have a problem with uneven coloring. With my final two coats I focused on balancing out the color.

They look fantastic. Does the kit come with step by step instructions? If not, would you mind sharing the steps? I have never done this kind of work, but would rather do it myself then have someone charge me money to wrap on the dye real quick.

Yes, the kit does come with directions and I also viewed some Youtube videos of people doing chairs, couches, etc. This was my first experience with leather work and I was a bit intimidated to start but if you take you time with each step the result should be great.

I also have the tan interior (Savanah?) and just want to know if it's okay for me to contact them and ask for the same color/mix you've used. Okay with you if I point Leather World to this thread?
Just hope they'll be happy to send those liquids by air mail. Fingers crossed (I wanted to get mine refurbed since about two years now). Local stuff is also okay but I'd rather use theirs

They actually have color codes for a lot of makes/models. In this case Savanna Beige is #941.
