Windscreen plastic replacement

I want to replace the scratched lexan in my 2000 Boxster wind deflector. I can't find how to remove the clear plastic from the trim (insert). I can get the the clear plastic cut on a CNC for free so this will be a lot cheaper than the $100+ these things cost. Anybody know the procedure for popping out the clear plastic from the black plastic trim (insert)?
