Pdwright,
You will need to remove the green peice. The cable ends will rub. You can also pur washers under the shifter console about 1/8 inch before you run out of stud to bolt it down.

Is there another run of these coming up or do you have any extra in stock now? Interested in picking up one of these. Have some slop in my shifter now and figure when I take the console apart to replace the connectors that probably have play in them would like to just get it all done and install the short shifter too.

Why would you need to put washers under ??

Mine now feels like it is notched steel when I shift
