996 Headlight conversion
Hi all,
New to this site but have spent many hours looking through all the posts. Just purchased a 2003 Boxster S Guards Red which I cannot wait to drive.
Looking at what people have done to their cars I was hoping someone could tell me what work is involved or a possible guide on converting the front end to a 996 as pictured below:
Love this example of a boxster... <3
Hoping to get this done in the very near future with some other tasteful mods to the interior too.
If anyone has any knowledge on this I would love to hear it
Many thanks,
Richard

This is a really tasteful mod but I guess really expensive.

Jeeeeesus....
Thanks for the reply The French Dude... did NOT realise the extent of this job. I wasn't sure whether it was a case of headlights wiring loom modified and bumper straight on but now I think this modification will have to wait... a long time... very expensive mod.
I think I may just change the front bumper with the standard lights, but unsure which fornt bumper looks the best
Cheers

This is the front end look you need ;
Install yourself for $355
I really hate to be such a whore for these projectors, but I don't think any other headlight options for the 986 even come close.

You can buy the projectors from Fred (Nine8Six) for that price and do the retrofit yourself.
Email me if you'd rather go that route.

Another option is to look for an OEM 996 GT3 front bumper cover . That's what I did and it is a straight bolt on no fitting required . I like the factory stuff because it fits and is made of poly so it is flexible . Bumper covers like Fred's ( great looking ) are fiberglass , nothing wrong with fiberglass but it easily cracks with small bumps/impacts . OEM is quite $$$ vs fiberglass so that has to be considered . Bottom line go with what YOU like and enjoy
