Okay, that makes sense. So in that picture, is that a stock headlight assembly...? I'm a bit confused. My main goal is to get rid of the amber on my car. I have 03-04 tail lights installed and I am getting clear side markers but i need the headlights. What would I need to obtain in order to replicate exactly what is in that picture? Because oh my lord that is exactly what I want:D:D:D

Headlight porn...I used to build these for a fee, but it got too costly for me.

You need to obtain a set of the clear style OEM headlights and install a set of Freds projectors. If you want the DRL light bars, that's a little more involved, but they are basically just six-inch CCFL lights mounted inside the headlight in the upper portion of the turn signal. ;)

That headlight porn.... oh my god.... amazing. Okay so clear style oem lights.... guessing that I can find those on pelican parts for a nasty price, but do they show up used on this forum very often? Do you recommend getting brand new? I messaged Fred so hopefully I can pick up a pair of his projectors when theyre available. DRL light bars might be a project for down the road

And i can really never express how much i appreciate the help from all you amazing people on here. I'm a clueless 20 year old just beginning to wet my feet in the Porsche world and this guidance is amazing. So thank you, really.

You can get new clear headlights on eBay for about $795 shipped...pricey, but they do look nice brand new. If you watch eBay, you can get decent used for $350-$500.

They rarely come up here on the forum, but I find a good used set on eBay about once a month.

I shall begin my hunt and await the return of Fred.

Thanks again!

Last question and then I will leave everyone alone for a while...
A clear halogen 986 headlight assembly for an 03-04 boxster- will I have any trouble fitting this onto my 2000 S?

No fit problems at all. They slip right in.

I bought new ones on eBay which was well worth it IMO. I figured if I was putting in such nice projectors, I wanted the rest to be new as well. Of course others have done very well polishing their OEM's. Mine had the amber which also influenced me to buy new.

Community assist, wow, you guys are the greatest. Particle, jpc763, Bruce!

Apologies for having missed your questions 2000986s. You are lucky bud, looks like you got taken care by the best here. All that was said is all very true!

Right. (Out of context) the reason I am stuck and not doing these headlight kits at this very moment is because I am pitching for a massive contract that I NEED badly. Its for a OEM motorcycle manufacturer (giant!) out off Japan. Like I said I desperately need this pitch to go in as it will keep me busy here for the next 10 years (3 new upcoming motorcycle models). I've completed 6 samples out of the ten they require and hopefully be done by this coming Friday along with RFQ, NDA, inspection reportrs, and all other paperwork. The rest will be waiting with my fingers crossed really :/ Nasty stress I tell ya.

Taking orders: If anyone needs a kit urgently (we have for sure 11 guys who keeps a heartbeat with me here) what I can do is get 12 kits ready by next week to at least take care of our friends here. If anyone else needs a kit, now is the time to send me a PM and I'll slip you in. I'll start those this weekend and they will be ready the following week.

Price is $355 shipped (members price; they worth $12,875 in reality lolll)

As said previously, I have parts for little over 180 kits ready so this will be assembling right after those 12 kits. If you prefer and happy to wait for me, by all means do :)

We offer them with the magical (and illegal) Porsche Motorsports scripts (temporarily) ATM. Anyway, for those 12 that I'll do for you chaps anyway. So....

Charles (aka Particlewave) still install them, he was lying a few posts above. PM him if you are lazy doing them yourself. He is by far the most experienced person in this world who will do those in a flash for you (electronics/relays included)

If you can sweet talk Charles to do the modifications, it is well worth it! He did mine and they came out perfect!

Fred, good luck with getting the contract, I have no doubt you will

Nine8Six 07-20-2016 08:17 PM

Thanks Captain

$50k (profits) contract per year for X(min) ten years. Not millions but man, I could do with a few like that. Starts like that anyway! Fingers crossed.

Really bloody hard to make money these days. Bank robbery is the next move lolllll

2000986s 07-20-2016 08:19 PM

Sounds like a great venture and I wish you all the luck in the world!

A little here, a little there! Pretty soon you're talking real money

Nine8Six 07-20-2016 08:28 PM

With a recent (loaned loll) $220k investment, I won't take any less.
