They could be unplugged in the rear if it became a problem.[/QUOTE]

I used to date a girl like that ;-)

Those are the Devil Eyes, btw, not the actual headlights. You can barely see the red when the lights are on.

Pretty cool, I wanted that in the set I ordered....but I was afraid it would be illegal and settled on white.

Hi Fred, found this pic in another thread. I have a 02 boxster S what do I need for my headlights to look identical. Turismo projectors and what else?

Tom

Nine8Six 11-23-2014 09:08 PM

Hey man, that's my car!!! (I wish). Thanks for posting this pic here btw

Tom - if you want the exact same results, other than the Turismo kit, you'll need additional:

1. High temp black spray paint (matte or semi/satin finish)
2. Silicon base sealant (to reseal your lens)
3. Some #600 abrasive paper to prep the surface of the reflector before painting

You may want to weld your new connections, electric tape is 'fine' however soldering those and securing everything with heat shrink wraps/tubing is recommended.

4. Soldering gun/lead kit
5. heat shrink wraps

Can't think of anything else. Some flat bars or large flat screw driver to pry open the headlight. That's it really. Let me know if you have an questions or aren't sure about anything you'll find in this thread mate

Hi Tom, since this is my car I think I can help you. Silver Turismo (original style) projectors with black base. White angel eyes and 6000K HID bulb. Painted black inside the light housing and clear headlight corners. By the way if you send them to Charles for retrofit he does outstanding work. Oh and Fred's lights are awesome, like a work of art.

Well well, David. It's good to know that it's you. The name you've used on that GTP site differs from your forum alias a little. Not to worry at all mate

Anything you are stuck with you got my mobby # on the slip... just give me a call (+0800). IP calls.

Looking forward for the pics

ps. I still haven't had time to install the new projectors... still running the prototypes in my car. Seeing a few of you guys going for the new kits is a tad irritating lol

AcesSpeedShop 12-10-2014 03:48 AM

Does Pelican carry these? I can't locate them in their online catalog.

Alan

Nine8Six 12-10-2014 04:52 AM

Alan

Hopefully the team at Pelican will settle for a few sets and have them in stock ready to shoot for you guys in the states and Canada soon. Can't really tell when however. Samples we're sent, tax details sent etc... the ball is in their camp ;)

I think the problem is... they are not sure what color(s) or model(s) to chose! e.g. two kits of each color in each model takes a bit of space (inventory-wise)

Can't really push them as this will only look like I'm begging or something lol embarrassing, so I'll just wait until they decide what they want to do for you chaps down there

In a meantime, let me know if I can be from any help

Fred, it time for a little "Me & my Porsche time" Get those bad boys istalled.

Dr. Charles just performed an interocular transplant on my old set and will be shipping them back shortly. I feel like a little kid at Christmas again.:D

Before and after pics when installed!

Best $ I ever spent on my Boxster. Fred's products and service are Top Shelf. Charles is great to deal with and his work and service are #1.
Thank you guys
Merry Christmas

Pelican should order two colors for their catalog. Gunmetal and Black. The gunmetal works well for unpainted inners, the black for the blacked out lenses. Other colors could be custom ordered with an appropriate lead time. My two cents. I think that once they are in the Pelican Catalog sales will increase because Pelican reaches beyond the message boards.

Nine8Six 12-14-2014 04:48 PM

Don - LOL, "me & my Porsche time". I know what you mean!

On the Pelican note, I'll be honest I am not rushing them at all. The fact that the product is exclusive to us only atm, few friends in JP/CN and chaps from the 996 crowd is "plenty" enough to keep both Charles and I busy doing what we like doing most (late-evening work, part-time, hobby pace). If you ask me, I'm kinda scared this going "catalogue" mode lol

Yes it's financially motivating but there is not only that to it. Not sure how to put this into words, here, now. Maybe just leaving it as it is for now is best and let's see what the future brings to this product.

Let's not forget, those lights are a 986forum community property. Pelican to decide what they want to do with them!
