DIY for AC compressor removal?

Hi, anyone has done it?

i need to remove it and install my PS pulley with shorter belt.

i heard you need to remove or drop the engine to do it?

can be don't without, no? I removed mine with just the driver side intake manifold off, but looks to me like it could come out the front no problem. three bolts, an electrical connector and two hoses. all can be reached without removing anything else, so it's just a matter of getting the unit out.

thanks for the help,

i will see when my car gets back from the cage builder

i need to remove the compressor, put the PS pulley and install the shorter belt.

quick question

do i need an AC delete pulley or bracket?

or i just remove the ac compressor, install ps pulley and install shorter belt?

ps pulley? I presume you are talking underdrive pulley (udp)? if so, then you can delete the ac and just run a shorter belt and still maintain the factory belt routing. if you delete the power steering as well then you need the ac delete pulley in order to maintain the appropriate belt routing (or gut your ps pump and use it). the ac delete pulley is designed for the dfi engines that have a different belt routing and require the pulley if the ac is deleted (like in the spyder and cayman r) but the ac compressor is the same for all engines so the ac delete unit will work on our cars. suncoast and I think bgb sell the oem unit; you can also buy the gsr unit that mounts in the ps pump location.

compressor is removed,

i had to remove :

all the bolts of the intake manifold
power steering reservoir
put aside a couple of hoses

now, ps pulley install!
