Yes they were plasti-dipped. It looks good and protects the wheels, but it is very annoying to keep up. Unless you put at least 4 coats on each wheel, it is very difficult to remove. It is like removing a strip of tape, one small piece at a time. It takes hours. With many coats, it is easier to remove. Also when the plastidip is somewhat fresh, it is easy to remove. I waited about 6 months before removing it.

I removed the old plastidip and repainted it with new plastidip last year since the old plastidip started turning brown in color. It is difficult to wash brake dust off the plastidip. Another 6 months later, I removed it completely.
