switching out stereo

ok have decided to go aftermarket. Went to local chain and was told that a kenwood single din was not a plug and play. Was told that the amp would not connect and then would have to rewire to new amp. I have not read this any where. please help do not want to be taken but dont want to mess anything up.

No, you will have to get an adapter or rewire at the h/u but Boxsters pre '03 all use copper wiring from h/u to amp. Since then, they all use fiberoptic to connect all the authorized components which unless you found a MOST (fiberoptic) compatible h/u would require complete rewiring.

Good luck

after more research looks like an adaptor and a h/u with multiple pre outputs will work. This will also leave the extra speaker wires to add rear, with only running a couple of wires.
