DIY Oil change
How many quarts do you guys put in when you do your oil change? I have a deep sump spacer on mine which raises it to 9.5 quarts. I put in 9 quarts it's showing oil is full by the dip stick and the electronic oil gauge.

Looks like your good to go. If the dip stick and electronic gauge are at the top mark, your fine. Assume you ran the car to circulate the oil into the void volume in the filter.

Any suggestions on where to purchase oil filters? And is the crush ring on the drain plug and does that need replacement at each oil change?
Thanks,
Brian

I ordered my oil filter (along with other items) at Suncoast Porsche. Crush ring should always be replaced after each oil change.

Be sure to cut open your old filter to check for metal and plastic bits.

That they do. A few specs is ok, but lots of chunks and I would be worried.

Really?? I've never (knock on wood) seen any bits of anything, metal, plastic or otherwise...kinda like it that way.

I bet if you really look next time, you'll find little brown pieces of plastic. The chain tensioners are under constant wear.

OK, I'll try that...but (!) I've looked pretty closely on previous occasions---even ran my finger over the surfaces, flattening out the pleats in the process. (I don't disagree for a second with your chain tensioner comment. )
