Black strip under air bag

Just wanted to know if this is removable before I start taring things out of the car. To clarify, it's the thin black strip that's under the passenger side air bag on the dash. It also runs across on both sides of the steering column in two separate pieces.

its removable, but the two nuts that hold it in place behind the dash are very difficult to get to.

the best route is to order a new one & break the old one off the dash. when you install the new one, don't bother installing the nuts (there are compression clips that will hold it in place anyway).

part number is 996.552.385.01.
