WTB: 97-04 986 or S
I am located in South Carolina and I am looking for a 97-04 Boxster or Boxster S with under 80k and a solid maintenance record. If the car is after 1999, needs to have the IMS retro to dual row bearing. Prefer blue, red, black, or yellow cars. I am willing to fly for the right car. Thank you.

Wow!
I think if you can find one like that, with that mileage and a maintenance history including IMS, for $9k, you'll probably have to fight us all for it!
Haha.

Maytag,
Unlike Utah, In the south Boxsters are a dime a dozen.

A Base yes, hopefully the S commands more $$ then $9k
Since toying with selling my 02 S (No-IMS work and 101k miles), the Autotrader market seems to be hovering north of 9500 to 10500 for somewhat similar models here in the NE. Options also in those price ranges seem to be Non-Liptronic, base twist wheels

Yes, dime a dozen for “dime a dozen” cars. Anything can be found for a low price when searching from the bottom up. Saving money doesn’t buy a long history of care and maintainence for a car though. You’re gonna get what you pay for.

Congrats, certainly seems to check the boxes you were looking for.
I have to ask since you posted the day before looking for a car and then the next day you bought one, were you already leaning into this car and just hoping maybe an S or newer model might be available?
Post some pics and enjoy the ride

Chad:
Congratulations. Will you find ME one now? Haha. Seriously, that sounds like a great find. Would love to see pics.
I'm also curious about the timing of the post and purchase. But I'm not a guy who wastes time either, when it's time to pull the trigger.

I was looking at a few locally but someone in the PCA told me I might be able to find a great deal through the forum. Since everyone seemed to think my budget was to low for what I wanted, I realized that the cars I was already looking at were really good deals and I should jump on one. I ended up compromising on the color. Silver was not my first choice but it has everything else I wanted and more mechanically.
