2001 Boxster S for sale

I am selling my 2001 Boxster S; the car has been great over the almost two years of ownership, which was purchased from a fellow board memeber. This is an awesome entry level Porsche, DD or future Spec car. Its silver with a dark blue (almost black) interior. It currently has 195k on the odometer, with an engine rebuild completed @ 187k miles. I would like to get $15k out of the car as it stands. Should you not want all the items referenced below, I can remove the GT3 seats/ipad/roll bar extension/radio/ to decrease the price.

I had no intensions of selling; however, I must thin the herd for another p-car I bought. I am on Long Island and can accommodate anyone who wants to see it. I am only a few miles from Huntington Porsche who can perform a PPI.

The car has had the following work/items added to the car:

Engine rebuild consisted of:
• Full disassembly and cleaning of all internal components
• Replaced all crankshaft and rod bearings
• Replaced all chains
• Replaced all chain tensioners
• Replaced all chain ramps (inside case and on VarioCam units)
• Replaced oil pump drive
• Replaced IMS bearing with Pelican Parts IMS kit
• Replaced crankshaft bearing carrier bolts
• Replaced rod bolts with updated 997 PN
• Replaced every single gasket and O-ring on the motor
• New NGK spark plugs

Other maintence includes:
• Rebuilding the drive axles with new CV boots and high-temp Redline grease
• New air/oil separator (AOS)
• New transmission fluid
• New rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires
• New StopTech Street Performance brake pads
• New engine mount
• All injectors were professionally cleaned and calibrated
• New convertible roof arms, plastic ones replaced with metal units.

Some of the upgrades made:
• 997/987 stock shifter console – much nicer/more precise than 986 unit.
• Porsche Litronics – OE integration via Porsche retrofit kit.
• PSS9 suspension – this was an early upgrade, so the suspension now has nearly 100k on them.
• RSS toe links were installed in the rear to facilitate a proper alignment after lowering the car.
• Replaced the entire sound system. Added rear speakers in a 987 Bose speaker housing. The sound system sounds great compared to a stock Porsche Bose setup. The head unit is a Kenwood KTC-ST956HD, which is pretty classy, clean, and has a simple interface. It has all of the modern conveniences including Bluetooth and usb connections to the from and rear. MB quarts components in the 987 Bose box. The stereo is powered by two Kenwood amplifiers.
• I have added a ipad mini – with cellular- in place of the double-din area. See the pictures, this ipad looks great and is a wonderful interface.
• OEM GT3 seats; these are the real-deal not reproductions.
• Brey Krause roll bar extension.
• OEM Porsche sport exhaust (PSE).
• OEM Porsche clear tail lights and front smoked marker lights.
• New OEM fuel pump and filter.
• Passed NYS inspection with no issues at all.
• Oil change on 1/8/17 with mobile 1 0-40 and oem filter (from the dealer).
• Clay bar and waxed weekend of 1/8/17.
• New OEM key from Huntington Porsche.

The so-so items:
• The car does have 195k+ on it. It does show some signs of it. The front bumper has received the brunt of this. I did have another bumper cover for it; however, it was damaged in transport. Both 996 and 986 bumpers fit and are relatively cheap. I do think it looks ok and adds some character.
• The PSS9’s are showing their age and do make a bit of noise over bumps. Bilstein is a fantastic company and will rebuild the shocks for $100 each or so.

Additional items:
• I have a box of items that will go with the car.
• I have 987 leather black seats that will go in the car should you not want the GT3 seats.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for looking.

Like the car, in the list I didnt notice anything about suspension refresh - bushes/ball joints.
Any work done there?

Bushing and ball joints are in fine condition and were replaced about 2-3 years ago.
Shocks can use a refresh as discussed in the add.
LMK if you want any additional info.
Thanks,

Ok, I think I'm going to sell the seats/roll bar and ipod. Coming with the 987 black leather seats.
As such, price reduced to 8.5k......
Great car!

$8.5k for a Boxster S with a rebuilt engine is a steal even with the mileage this car has.

All three words are in his post, just not together:
______________

______________

Try using quotes in your search next time: "roof transport system"

Good luck, they are rare, but do come up from time to time.

HAHA,
Pretty cool.
Car is still available at the moment.
I have several tire kickers but nothing firm.

GT3 seats and Roll Bar extension have been sold and sent to Canada.
Car has nice black 987 seats in it now.
I did make a super amateur mistake with the top, when opening in the cold.
The rear plastic window is now cracked on both sides.
Will consider taking a few hundred off if a buyer comes along.
Otherwise, I will pickup a used top..

Battery

Been super cold here in the Northeast. Just picked up a new battery and installed. Old one was 7 years old...

Car is still available for the moment, lots of cyber tire-kickers but nobody has come to look in person.
