Today's the day

Today's the day when I get to try my new setup on the boxster, and try the new car.

Man, what a hoot!
I'll post up some video later.
I had to take 'er easy in the Ferrari, especially in the faster areas, because the aftermarket "stop tech" brakes the PO put on were just not up to the task. Plus, the Michelin PS4S are NOT as sticky as the nitto nt01's on the boxster (duh), so i was sliding around a ton.... with the traction control lighting up everywhere (i left it on for all the reasons above). With all of that: still 4 seconds/ lap faster than the boxster. (Most of that in the two straightways, honestly. 150mph is faster than 119mph in the same place.)

Anyway: another dream lived.

This is my “always” experience at my track where it seems that everybody has a GT3 or better!

Yup. So true. We were running the 3.07 mile configuration today, so minimum 3 places where I see 3 digit speeds in the boxster. That means all those big hp boys were motoring away from me everywhere. I'd reel em all in, then watch 'em motor away again.

::sigh::

Super cool! What a great pair of cars to drive back to back!

Clearly, you need a 911 Cup car - it will be fast on the straights and in the turns!

You might try dropping your tire pressures 3 lbs. As someone who runs street tires during my DE sessions, they heat up quickly and result in "greasy" feel and lots of understeer. If you feel the greasy feel later in a session after dropping 3 lbs, then drop another lb for the next session and repeat until you go the full session w/o the understeer.

Remember, tires and brakes are consumables.

So today we're running the 4.5 mile course. It'll be crazy to see the disparity in lap times.
I started the day with the Ferrari today; only 80d ambient. I shifted at 7k rpm (instead of 8500) and the Temps remained acceptable. The tires: forums tell me the ps4s likes between 35 - 37 psi HOT. I am trying to stay around 35, but I might try 34 and see if it improves or gets worse.

The car ROTATES BEAUTIFULLY. so very tractable.
