Smoking after autoX run

I have a 2000 boxster running a 3.4 911 engine.

Yesterday, as my dot legal slicks hot after a few runs, my times went down and lateral G's increased.

I pulled my car onto the grid to do another run, shut it off for a minute, and when I restarted, I had a lot of smoke. I pulled off of the paddock, held the engine at 2500 rpms for a few minutes, and the smoke disappeared. It did scare the hell out of me

Is there a modification I have to make to the AOS? I dont want this to happen anymore, what are you guys doing to prevent it?
